Pollution effects our health greatly. The world Health organisation says that 2.4 million people die each year from causes directly linked to air pollution. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_pollution#Health_effects As stated on the sub page Jobs vs Environment it is hard to do anything about factory pollution as so many people would lose their jobs that support their families. Though also stated in Jobs vs Environmnet Greenpeace even thinks that more jobs will be created through a environmentally sustainable change, it could be that the bosses of these polluting cooperations just don't want to admit they may lose alot of money once sustainable companies and alternatives are created. Pollution also affects our environment greatly. As you can see Manly lagoon is in a terrible condition through local industry. This is the same industry that is ruining our air quality and health. |
